How to stop drink driving?
Driving while intoxicated is the easiest cause of death to avoid. It's simple: you don't get in the car, you don't put your keys in the ignition switch, and you don't drive. Then why is it the most common one? What makes us combine the two activities that are dangerous enough separately? The thing on top of the mind of a drunk driver is the hope that there will be no police on his way, but the fact that he could hurt himself and others barely crosses the mind.Interestingly, one major cause of D.U.I is the fact that a person doesn't want to pay a cab fare, but when you get busted for drunk driving the fine is at least a hundred times the fare. The authorities have experimented with many solutions for the problem, but none of them seems to have worked properly. For example, the police have tried heavy surveillance on busy roads, which has proved to be a waste of time. Speed bumps do work of course, but no driver will want to experience them every ten seconds. People say airbags save lives, but I'm certain that people would drive much slower if cars had axes behind the drivers neck. For punishment of driving under the influence the driver may lose his license which is ridiculous. If the person can with a clear conscience drive while drunk, he can surely do it without his license. In my opinion the penalty should be much more severe, like in Denmark, where a drunk driver is thrown into jail if the amount of alcohol is more than 0,8 per milles. Everyone should think their actions twice, and while intoxicated, at least four times. We as the drivers have the responsibility to make the world a safer place. One should realise that a persons life is more valuable than a ten euro cab fare.
