My life as a holiday rep
When I was going to high school I certainly couldn't even think about moving abroad. After graduating I started studying geography in the university. But something in me changed and I dropped out of school and moved to Central Europe where I still work as a holiday rep.I simply love it here! Not only is the working environment wonderful but the people here are amazingly friendly and nice. For instance, the chef of the inn that I work in always listens to me and has very good pieces of advice. (Plus, she makes this incredibly good zucchini soup which is my new favourite food - even though I hate the zucchini!) Every job has its dark sides and so does this. Even though this job is really intriguing, it gives me a lot of stress and pressure. We have way too little staff so I often work over 12 hours a day which means I don't have spare time or social life. But I can't complain: if I want to start my own business one day I'll have to work really, really hard. When I was little I remember telling my parents how I would become a doctor or a teacher - or a hairdresser! Fortunately, things didn't go the way I planned. I didn't get an education everybody expected me to get - I got so much more: I got a life, a life I could be proud of! You don't have to have a great occupation with a big salary to live a lovely life, it's not all about the money, it's all about the happiness. And that, my friend, is a thing you should go for!
